The Tamworth with its unmistakable golden-red coat and pricked ears is considered to be the oldest and purest British breed.

Extremely chatty and energetic by nature, they are a large, rangy pig. The smaller litters produced makes them a useful smallholder pig.

They make excellent woodland pigs, using their long snout to clear undergrowth and break up the soil.
