The Saddleback is a combination of two breeds, the Essex and Wessex Saddleback, both similar in colouring.
Originally bred in south and west England, they amalgamated to form the British Saddleback in 1967.
It was the last coloured pig to lose favour with modern commercial farming.
This lop eared pig is easily identified by the clearly defined belt of white extending over the shoulder and continuing down the forelegs.
